Itinerary Italy

Here are the details of the route taken by your sailboat and its crew from Naples:

Croisière à la cabine - Naples

Day 1 - Saturday: Naples

After the check-in and the safety briefing (6:00 pm / 06:00 pm), short navigation of 6 nautical miles (MN), to the bay of Corricella in Procida. This bay is known for its village with houses built one on top of the other, which are blocks of different colors. This lively village offers a breathtaking view, especially when the sun shines on the colorful houses. No cars here! Stroll through the main village via its stairs and narrow passages to Terra Murata or Casale Vascello. Dinner and overnight on board at anchor in the bay.

Croisière à la cabine - Procida

Day 2 - Sunday: Procida

After a swim and a typical Procidanian breakfast ("lingue al limone", "sweet tongues of Procida" in French, small puff pastry turnovers filled with lemon cream), we head for Ischia, the largest island in the Bay of Naples. We pass near Vivara, an island connected to Procida by a bridge. This island is home to a nature reserve, rich in rare plants and birds. After a 8 MN navigation, we arrive in the bay of Sant'Angelo and the beach of Maronti. The bay is certainly beautiful but don't miss to visit the small village or the beach Le Fumarole, which is easily accessible by a small path from the center of the village. At about 16:00, the catamaran will reach a bay near Ischia Ponte (4 MN from Sant'Angelo). Ischia Ponte is famous for its medieval castle that overlooks the bay below (Castello Aragonese). A dinner at anchor under the castle and a walk in Ischia will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Croisière à la cabine - Capri

Day 3 - Monday: Capri

We set sail in the morning for a 19 MN sail from Ischia to Capri. You will discover the mythical Faraglioni rocks, visit the Blue Grotto and admire the incredible color of the water when the sun rays illuminate the grotto. We will sail around the island, passing by Faro and stopping at Marina Piccola to enjoy the atmosphere. After mooring at this famous pier, be sure to visit the village of Capri with its narrow streets lined with stores, the Piazzetta, Via Tragara, Via Camerelle, etc. Every day, celebrities from all over the world disembark from their maxi yachts at this pier!

Croisière à la cabine - Positano

Day 4 - Tuesday: Positano and the Amalfi Coast

Once past the Faraglioni rocks, we head for the Amalfi coast, where high mountains with their particular colors dominate the bays of Nerano, Positano and Amalfi. After a 8,5 MN navigation, you will swim in the deep waters of Li Galli. The Li Galli islands, composed of 3 deserted islets (Gallo Lungo, Castelluccio and Rotonda) and located a few miles from the beach of Positano, are reflected in the clear sea in front of the pearl of the Amalfi coast. According to legend, they were inhabited by mermaids who seduced sailors with their melodious voices: they then lost control of their ships which ran aground on the rocks (a mythological transposition of the dangers of navigation). The last inhabitants of these islands were the choreographer Leonide Massine (who built a magnificent house, decorated by Le Corbusier, on the ruins of a Roman villa), and the star dancer Rudolph Nureyev. Short sail to Positano (4,5 MN). Stopover in Positano, whose remarkable beauty has contributed to the reputation of the Amalfi Coast throughout the world. Don't forget to buy linen dresses, leather sandals, colored ceramics and the typical Limoncello.

Croisière à la cabine - Amalfi apéro

Day 5 - Wednesday - Amalfi

After breakfast, we drive to Amalfi (6 MN from Positano), passing by Praiano and Cona dei Marini. We will stop to visit the amazing Furore Fijord, a deep crack in the rock at the mouth of a steep valley that falls into the sea, revealing a small beach and a tiny and picturesque fishing village. It was here, among the "monazzeni" - typical old fishermen's houses - that the tumultuous relationship between Roberto Rossellini and the actress Anna Magnani, nicknamed "Nannarella", began during the shooting of the film "L'Amore". The houses, now uninhabited, have been converted into an Ecomuseum. The fjord is overhung by a 30 meters high suspension bridge. A high-flying diving championship takes place there every first Sunday of July.
Once past Cape Conca, we will arrive in Amalfi. Amalfi (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), one of the four Italian republics, is rich in history and is full of magnificent ancient buildings and museums. The Cathedral of St. Andrew in Piazza Duomo, the Basilica of the Crucifix, the old arsenal of the Maritime Republic, the paper museum are just some of the wonders of Amalfi.

Croisière à la cabine - Sorrente

Day 6 - Thursday: Sorrento

It is possible to take a bus to Ravello (extra charge). Perched on a rocky spur, 365 meters high, Ravello overlooks the Gulf of Salerno. It is one of the most famous destinations on the Divine Coast, due to its irresistible fascination and the perfect combination of art and music it offers. This is why it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and called the "City of Music".
The Villa Ruffolo, the Villa Cimbrone, the Villa Rondinaia and the famous Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium will enchant you.
In the early afternoon we will drive to Sorrento (18 MN), where you will admire the beauty of the landscape and swim in beautiful bays (the bay of Nerano or Marina di Puolo). Visit the village in the evening and spend the night at anchor in the bay of Sorrento.

Weather

It is often said that in this sea only light winds blow. This is true for the period from mid-June to mid-September, which is ideal for families with children for a relaxing vacation. During the rest of the year, the wind conditions are quite comparable to the Adriatic and the more athletic sailing enthusiasts will find something to enjoy. The west wind often blows. Thermal winds on the coast have their charm. Daytime breezes can reach 3-5 Bft. A stable high pressure situation is typical of this area in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sun shines often and vigorously (bring a good sunscreen!) and rain is very rare.
