The ideal period for sailing in the West Indies is from November to April, a dry period during which the trade winds blow regularly from east to west allowing ideal north-south sailing with the wind on the crosswind.
The wet season runs from May to August and is considered the low season with more rain but much less people at anchor. From July onwards, however, it is necessary to start monitoring the weather and the evolution of the potential cyclones which generally form off Cape Verde and move up the Atlantic Ocean until they threaten the Caribbean Arc, generally to the north of the latter.
Air: 27°C average, peaks at 32°C and rarely less than 20°C. Sea from 21°C to 29°C depending on the season.
