Phuket is the largest island of Thailand ; the marina of Yacht Haven gladly welcomes a nice fleet of boat and catamaran to rent. The islands of the Andaman sea are within your reach, with the countless number of fine sandy beaches bordered by coconut trees, the emerald waters, the beautfful coral reefs, the charming villages and the impressive cliffs.

Thailand is a beautiful, fascinating and fancy destination for the sailsman in need of thrills. Where else, other than the bay of Phang-Nga, are you able to sail between spectacular rocks in the shape of sugar loaves ?

28 nautical miles at the south east of Phuket, you will find Phi Phi Islands, a major tourist attraction in the south of Thailand. The most visited site, Phi Phi Don, is surrounded by crystal clear waters. You will enjoy an amazing variety of mooring spots, either for the night or for a lunch break. Multicoloured coral reefs thriving with incredible marine fauna and flora surround most of the islands in the region. This will make you want to spend all your time in the water ! These are the places you will discover either during one of your cabin cruises or by renting your own sailboat.

The Similan Islands are located at around 54 nautical miles in the north west of Phuket. These nine islands constitute a perfectly preserved natural paradise. Granite topographies, covered with a dense tropical forest, are typical of the landscapes.

Phuket

Langkawi (Malaysia)

Off the north-western coast of Malaysia in the sea of Andaman, you will find the Langkawi Archipelago. The islands of Langkawi provide you with numerous anchorages welll sheltered from the winds. The beaches on the northen coast and the coves are gorgeous. Langkawi is a splendid cruising wonderland, full of small islands and impressive cliffs.

Weather

December, January and February are the best months to sail in Thailand ; the wind blows from the north-east at around 10-20 knots with a moderate sea. It is the dry season with the temperature turning around 30C.

For one night or only for lunch break, a wide choice of beautiful mooring areas is opened to you. Most of the islands in the region are bordered with multicoloured coral reefs, thriving with marine wild life which will make you want to spend your time in the water.

  • Phuket (base Yacht Haven) - Koh Nakha Yai - Koh Kaï Nai - Koh Phi Phi Don - Koh Phi Phi –Koh Lanta - Ton Sai Bay - Koh Dam Kaï - Ao Nang – Pakbia – Koh Chong lat - James Bond Island - Koh Pan Yi – Phuket : 120 MN

Suggested route : Similan Islands and Surin (14 days)

  • Phuket (base Yacht Haven) - Naï Harn (incredible anchorage)- Thap Lamu - Phra Thong (mangrove) – Islands of Surin (crossings of whale sharks) - îles Similan (manta rays and turtles can be frequently seen) - Ta Chai - Koh Bon - Koh Naka Yai – Phuket : 310 MN

This sailing route is possible only from November to April (the Similan and Surin are closed from the 1st of May to the 3oth of October).
